Sort of brilliant
The lecture from the health ed teacher is awkward, the footage of the 1940's junkyard full of classic cars is a bit heart-breaking, but the acting by the teens saves the day. It's wonderfully overplayed. It's also great to hear things like, "It's our lunch break, let's go for a drive," as you could apparently do in high school in 1946. It's also heart-breaking to see that you could get a real malt for only fifteen cents.
Totally 2nd rate alcohol awareness film for teenagers that emphasizes three characteristics, Agility, Stamina and Judgement, and somewhat falls into boring school lectures, curiously peppered with weird school demonstrations and a great overhead slide machine. In the end, the film briefly goes into how two guys have their Âpride about drinking. Soon a old Soda Jerk chimes in on the conversation as well, but in a classic moment, canÂt remember his lines! But other then that, pretty average.
